Ron Garlisch's Team Takes Baker Shootout II Title


Ron Garlisch’s team from Brunswick Zone Algonquin (Pam Garlisch, Ron Garlisch, Tracy Kenning, Steve Clutter, Dan Kenning) defeated Scotty’s Team (Ryan McConville, Scott Michels, Len Miele, Roger Tonyan Jr., and Dave Zauss) from Johnsburg Bowl two games to one to take the Baker Shootout II Championship and $1200 first prize. Team Garlisch led the 12 game round robin match play qualifying averaging 224.91 en route to an 8-4 match play record. Qualifying first earned Team Garlisch a first round bye who went on to defeat the number eight seed in round two and the number twelve seed Steve’s Team (Steve Paquet, Russ Freeman, Adrian Fugler, Mike Flatley, and Walter Pekovitch) in the semifinals en route to the title match with Scott’s Team.

Scott’s Team was 11th after qualifying (5-7, 200.42 avg) and advanced to the title match by defeating the number 6 seed En Fuego (Brian Flynn, Jeff Vandegnachte, Bob Crawford, Gary Clemons Jr., and Jason Gobeyn), the number three seed Renegades from 3D Bowl (Steve Wojcik, Jaime Sensabaugh, Tom Gach, Dave Lillquist, Rob Farrar), and 10 seed Tommy’s Team (Tommy Freeman, Bill Lester, Missy Lester, Dennis Furlong, and Ryan Yanel).

In the final match, Scott’s Team took game 1 from Team Garlisch 220-184, but team Garlisch rallied back with wins of 207-191 and 224-208 in games two and three to take the title.
